Prince LOL Concert April 18, 2013 – Dancing on Stage next to Prince!!
I start this post off with a plea: If anyone has photos or video of me on stage dancing next to Prince, please message me! ivahandfull@ivahandfull.com
Thank you!
Here’s the details of how I ended up dancing next to Prince on stage at the Showbox Seattle on April 18, 2013 at the 8 pm show.
I wore my 1984 Prince costume with the 1991-Prince-inspired see-through butt. I painted on my sparkle mustache and wore my mohawk. My date was Seraphina Fiero.
We stood in line at 5:30, doors opened at 7 pm. Green room bar was full of people who were there before us, but we were given wristbands from a roadie guy that gave us access to another line that gets us in before anyone else. Seraphina Fiero and I were first in that line, so we were first into the entire show even before the green room people. We stood right in front of Prince’s mic, about 2 feet away from him.
Prince only played 2 older songs, the rest of the evening he played newer songs and 60s/70s rock songs. He rocked all night long, not to mention it was phenomenal to stare at him for 1 1/2 hours straight. He had an all-female extremely hot band, who could play like crazy.
At some point, he reached his hand down and I got to slide my hand over his.
During the last or 2nd to last song, which I think was a Jimi Hendrix song that turned into a jam session, he motioned for me to come on stage, I gave him a look to ensure that’s what he meant, and he did it again. I jumped on stage and started busting a move. He was facing the audience, playing guitar, so I just kept dancing. Seraphina Fiero said I was up there for about 20-30 seconds. I tried to go over to him (because I thought I should, thinking it was rude of me not to be near him and I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to do on stage), he said something, and I backed away a bit. A bouncer took me off stage, tried to kick me out, then another bouncer told him Prince had waved me onto stage and I was able to stay. But that was the end of the concert.
Afterward, tons of people thanked me for jamming out on stage, for doing what everyone else wishes they could have done, and for dancing my heart out. Outside, I got to take a ton of pics with people, which was cool. Entire night was amazing and I cannot forget that this was beyond my wildest dreams.
Now to conquer Trent Reznor (who I always thought would be easier to meet than Prince, but now I’m thinking not so much)
